This weekend, Allison and I went up to Manhattan (ok VACATION!!!!!! jk! This is just another one of my classic jokes). We were having lunch with my parents in the Upper West Side, which meant we were being fancy. Al wore their nicest button up and I wore Billie Eilish’s met gala dress (I heisted it off her at the after party). I got a LOT of compliments!!!!!
On the subway, Al told me how they and their friend used to send strangers random photos to see who would react. This is, of course, hilarious and the perfect way to troll people IRL. I’ve never done it because I’m always anxious about getting a dick pic, but seeing as I was dressed so beautifully, I figured, let’s do it.
While I did my “morning” “pages” on the subway (aka wrote one page at 1pm and called it a day - this is my weekend morning pages practice), Al went to work. They found someone within airdropping distance whose phone was named “the great depression ;)” obviously the perfect recipient.
They sent this photo:
Adorable, cute, anonymous, sweet. It is a yawning puppy literally what more could you want?!?!?!
I chuckled and then went back to my very important journaling where I was probably writing about how badly I had to shit or something stupid.
THEN.
The person RESPONDED!!!!! “The great depression ;)” sent back THIS amazing photo:
R u kidding me?!?!?! Hilarious AND on topic??? Game on.
Al sent:
TGD sent
!!!!!!
Ante UPPED!!!
Al sent:
TGD sent:
I CRIED!!! LOOK AT LITTLE TONGUE!!!
We did this back back and forth from Brooklyn to Manhattan squealing and giggling with every send and arrival.
Then, our train rolled into 34th street and the person who we thought was TGD stood up. Fuck. The fun and games were gonna be over!!! How could we tell her she brought us so much joy without asking if she was the stranger we were airdropping random dog pics to and admitting that we were airdropping random dog pics to a stranger? What if it wasn’t her and we were just staring at her longingly like absolute creeps??? WAS THIS WHERE IT ENDED?! IT WAS SO QUICK!!!!
She must have seen the desperation in our faces because she waved to us as she got off the train. We absolutely lost it. We were damn right. This stranger meant everything to us and we would likely never see her again. Godbless new york godbless airdrop.
